Being able to laugh at yourself is linked with higher levels of optimism and better moods.
In my opinion, being able to laugh at yourself is actually a sign of strength and mental toughness. Every single one of us has personality traits that we would like to change or improve, we all make mistakes and do things that we wish we hadn’t done or could have done better, but there’s no point in punishing yourself for those things – the most beautiful part of this is that we are all deeply flawed in our own ways, and that’s what makes life interesting!
We can either dwell upon our imperfections or laugh about them.
Life is a series of ups and downs. We can’t allow negativity to take over; we have to fight against it, and laughter is one of our most powerful tools in this endeavour.
I was reading an article that talked about 5 excuses of why people forget to laugh; 1. Not living in the moment 2. Not being playful 3. Not being authentic 4. Not being able to deal with imperfection 5. Believing that we need a reason to laugh
Those paths don’t serve you, life is too short to treat it like you’re on trial. Get yourself off that trial and read my tips below!! For those that know me, I’m sure you’re going to get a laugh out of reading them – you’ll easily imagine me doing every single one of them!
My ‘socially incorrect’ tips for how to enjoy a good laugh: • Poke fun at your partner randomly and watch their confusion • Be a kid again and act silly! It is so much fun, trust me. Talk in a funny voice, mimic your peers, act out someone else’s characteristics, get on your rebounder and dance like a mad person – Oh that last one might only be for me ;-) • Watch a funny movie • Have a date with your friends and bring a light hearted energy with you • Play with your pet, get down on the ground and bark at them, they love it – now this one’s a favourite of mine!! • Send a ridiculously ugly snapchat filter of yourself to your friends and try not to laugh
Sending loads of Ha ha ha ha ha ha has to you E xxx
