If you were constantly told by people that they weren't happy with their fitness, their appearance, their wobbly bits, their post partum tummy, their moobs, their jiggly bum, their lack of energy, their lack of self belief, their lack of control, their sweet tooth, their self esteem, their life..... You would tell them to do x, y, z wouldn't you?
So why do people not follow proven formulas when they are so readily available??
Is it because they are stupid? Defiant? Ignorant? Judgmental? Skeptical?
Nope, it's not any of that....
We will only take action on the things that we place the most value on and for most people that's; Earning money, work, partner, kids, family, friends, social life, community.....
So then why do people continue to complain about their current state if it's not in their top values list to do anything about it?
We all want to feel and look good? Why wouldn't we? We wouldn't consciously CHOOSE to be carrying extra weight or body fat... We wouldn't consciously CHOOSE to have zero energy and we certainly wouldn't consciously CHOOSE to feel insignificant and out of control within our own wellness.
So what's the solution?
I try to inspire and teach my wellness community that firstly, they are worth putting themselves at the top of the priority list!!
Firstly, if you aren't looking after yourself or filling YOUR tank up, how do you think you are going to care/love/inspire for anyone else's life?
Secondly, it is what we do consistently on a daily basis that matters.... The daily rituals, the non-negotiables of self-care. (I will go into this further in another post) And please not that these do not need to take up a lot of time.
Thirdly, BOOK out specific times and SCHEDULE it in! That is the only way you are going to create a different outcome. You know you don't cancel on the hairdresser when she's all booked up, create that same booking value within yourself!! Even if that means you have to group a couple of values together such as having coffee with your friends AFTER you finish your hill walk or exercise class..... If you're someone who uses your kids as an excuse because you don't have the time or the money to do things..... start INVOLVING them in your healthy life.....it's good for them!!!
Make working out at home a fun time for your kids, reward them for letting you plug into yourself if they don't want to join in.
We must think about the end result and work backwards.
>Is this activity that i'm doing right now contributing to the outcome I want?
>Is it contributing to the person I really want to be?
Perhaps you need to create huge accountability for yourself and actually PAY for a service that will help you stay committed eg; life coaching, boot-camps, personal training, healers etc....
We all have the same 24 hours in day. It's how we organise and use our day that counts!
